University is a place where you grow, try to answer questions and solve problems. But above all, it is a place where you plan for the future, where the women and men of tomorrow are trained.
Our University is one that values the skills and plans of those who are part of it, helping today's students to discover their talents and realise their dreams.
The enthusiasm and passion of the people who are part of the University are our strength: thanks to them, we have become a point of reference in the area for society, schools and families; we achieve excellent results in research; we face the challenge of designing the future by looking beyond the horizon.
Almost 12,000 students divided into our 8 departments, 2 schools and 43 degree courses have access to teaching facilities, libraries, laboratories, residences and innovative services with extensive use of Information and Communication Technologies.
The University aims to be a place where every member of the academic community finds the optimal conditions to carry out their institutional duties.
The decision-making processes are based on integrity, transparency, accountability and the absence of conflicts of interest.
The University operates as a complex and integrated system in all its components and reflects internally the distinction between policy, management, control and assurance activities.
The governing bodies are the Rector, the Academic Senate and the Board of Directors. The management body is represented by the Director General, while the control bodies are the Evaluation Unit for scientific, teaching and administrative activities, and the Board of Auditors for financial, accounting and asset management. Finally, the guarantee body is represented by the Single Guarantee Committee for equal opportunities, the promotion of employee well-being and anti-discrimination.

Teaching and research are closely linked at Insubria. Our lecturers take an interdisciplinary approach to their subjects and, thanks to numerous international collaborations, students enjoy direct contact with leading researchers in their field and have access to the latest scientific publications.
Ours is a young university, and so is our staff. We have around 380 staff members who are responsible for the university's procedures and organisation. Behind every service, even the smallest one, there is someone working for all of us.
