The Director General is a management body of the University. Based on the guidelines provided by the Board of Directors, he/she is responsible for the overall management and organisation of the University's services, instrumental resources and technical-administrative staff, as well as for the tasks required by current legislation on general management offices in the public administration.
He/she oversees the implementation of the programmes and objectives established by the governing bodies, entrusting their implementation to the managers and heads of central and decentralised services and structures, participates in the meetings of the University's Governing Bodies and exercises any other powers assigned to him/her by the Statute, Regulations and legal provisions.
The position of Director General is assigned by the Board of Directors, upon the recommendation of the Rector and after consulting with the Academic Senate, to a person with high professional qualifications and at least five years of proven experience in management positions, through a procedure designed to ensure transparency and impartiality. The position is temporary, with a term not exceeding four years, and is renewable.
