Requirements for applying for graduation
  • To obtain a bachelor's degree, students must have acquired 180 credits, including those relating to compulsory knowledge, as well as Italian and a European Union language.
  • To obtain a master's degree, students who already hold a bachelor's degree must have acquired 120 credits in accordance with the regulations and teaching regulations of the course of study in which they are enrolled.
  • To obtain a single-cycle Master's degree, students must have acquired 300 or 360 credits, as per the regulations and teaching regulations of the course of study in which they are enrolled. The qualification is awarded upon passing a final examination, the procedures for which, normally involving the submission of a written thesis by the student, are governed by the teaching regulations of the degree programme, in accordance with the teaching regulations.
  • In order to obtain a master's degree, students must submit an original thesis written under the guidance of a supervisor.
How to apply

Submitting your application: in order to be admitted to the final examination, students must be up to date with their tuition fees and contributions and have an approved study plan, otherwise their degree application will be cancelled.

Before submitting your application: complete the Almalaurea questionnaire.

  • Graduating students must register with Almalaurea: click on “Almalaurea Registration”, go to “Web Services – Student Administration” and log in with your credentials
  • proceed with completing the questionnaire.

Online application: only after completing the questionnaire will it be possible to click on “Conseguimento titolo” (see Guide to submitting an online degree application). 
Students must then enter the data relating to their application for admission to the degree examination. 
Please note that it is mandatory to complete, sign and upload the ‘Form - Rules of conduct to be observed during the degree session’ among the attachments for the online procedure. 


At the end of the online procedure, students must pay the virtual stamp duty of €32.00 using the PagoPA payment notice (payable at all bank branches). Please check the deadlines indicated above for the charging of any late payment fees. 
Once the payment has been recorded and the relevant checks on the student's academic record have been carried out, the operators will confirm the application for admission to the degree examination.

For three-year degree courses in the health sector: (Professional Education, Physiotherapy, Dental Hygiene, Nursing, Midwifery, Cardiocirculatory Physiopathology and Cardiovascular Perfusion Techniques, Biomedical Laboratory Techniques, Medical Radiology Imaging and Radiotherapy Techniques)  in addition to the payment of €32.00 for the virtual revenue stamp, a contribution for admission to the degree examination qualifying for professional practice of €200.00 is also due.

For the single-cycle Master's degree course in Medicine and Surgery: in accordance with Ministerial Decree no. 8 of 2 April 2020 and consequently with Rector's Decree 346/2020 of 13 May 2020, the University's Teaching Regulations governing the organisation of the degree programme in Medicine and Surgery in Class LM/41-Medicine and Surgery have been amended in accordance with Decree Law No. 18 of 17 March 2020.

Therefore, starting from the first available session of the 2019/2020 academic year (July 2020), students graduating in Medicine and Surgery (Class LM/41 -Medicine and Surgery) who have obtained a pass mark for the practical assessment internship pursuant to Ministerial Decree No. 58/2018 achieved internally during the degree programme will obtain a Master's Degree in Medicine and Surgery with the dual value of an academic qualification and a qualifying qualification and, from that date (13 May 2020), in addition to the payment of €32.00 for the virtual revenue stamp, they are required to pay a contribution for admission to the degree examination qualifying them to practise the profession equal to €200.00 and the mandatory tax for admission to the state examinations for professional qualification of €49.58. 
 

Please note: 
Those who intend to graduate in the extraordinary session in March do not need to renew their enrolment or pay the first instalment of fees for the following academic year. 
In the event of withdrawal from the aforementioned graduation session, the student is required to renew their enrolment, pay the first instalment of fees for the following academic year, pay the relevant late payment fee and submit the ISEE certificate to the relevant Student Office. For this reason and in relation to this specific situation, it is always advisable to submit the ISEE for the following academic year as well.

Students are invited to notify the Student Secretariat of any changes to their residence/domicile, even after graduation, in order to ensure the correct delivery of any future communications.

How to withdraw your application

If a student does not intend to take the final degree examination in the session for which they have submitted an application, they are required to formalise their withdrawal using the appropriate form, which must be sent to the Student Secretariat within 10 days of the session via the Infostudenti service.  
In this case, they must submit a new application for admission to the degree examination, following the online procedure again.

When to take the various steps - General dates

The deadlines indicated below are final:

45 days before the graduation session

  • Application for admission to the degree examination: submit it via the online procedure (see also the relevant Guide). 
    Payment of the PagoPA payment notice for the virtual revenue stamp and (only for degree courses in healthcare professions) for admission to the degree examination qualifying for professional practice is an integral part of the procedure and must be paid by the same deadline.

25 days before the degree session

  • All examinations must be completed by this date.

Starting from the July 2021 graduation session

15 days* before the graduation session

  • Submit the final degree thesis by uploading it online in electronic format (the only format accepted is PDF/A-2b). 
    The degree thesis will be approved by the supervisor by the tenth* day prior to the start of the graduation session for which the student is duly registered. 
    Failure to obtain approval will result in non-admission to the graduation session.

10 days* before the graduation session

  • Withdrawal of the degree application: if the student does not intend to take the final degree examination in the session for which they have submitted an application, they are required to formalise their withdrawal using the appropriate form (available under attachments), to be sent to the Student Secretariat within 10 days of the session via the Infostudenti service. 
    In this case, they must submit a new application for admission to the degree examination, following the online procedure again.
