Course description
This Degree program aims to give graduates an adequate knowledge of the methods to analyse and understand the functioning of enterprises.
Graduates are skilled in managerial areas and in business sectors, and in economic subjects as well that are useful to understand the economic system, also with the support of economic models and quantitative tools. All these are completed by the knowledge of the principles of the legal system and regulation.
The course of study and teaching activities of the Degree program in Economics and Management of Innovation and Sustainability (CLEMIS) focus on two main drivers of the economic systems transformation, business activities and the labour market and professions in recent years, namely innovation and sustainability.
The graduates of this bachelor will be able to work in companies that operate in different sectors (industry, services, commerce, and financial services as well) or in public Authorities (at local and national levels) and in territorial and trade associations. They will be of particular interest to companies and other economic organizations with a focus on business strategies and professional or research activities on innovation, digitalization, and sustainability from the environmental and socio-economic point of view.
The CLEMIS also prepares students to the professions of Expert Accountant and Labour Consultant: the agreements with the Association of Public Accountants, Auditors and Advisors of Varese and with the Association of Labour Consultants of Varese allow students to have six months of professional internship during the third year in qualified professionals of the above-mentioned associations. In addition, CLEMIS graduates are exempt from the first part of the State Examination to access the profession of Expert Accountant.
The degree course is also offered on a part-time mode, with evening and Saturday morning classes. The course, divided into four years, is designed to allow working students to study and work at the same time and also to support those students who may face some difficulties with the traditional way to study and thus obtain their bachelor degree.
The structure of the Degree Programme in Economics and Management has been thoroughly and accurately designed, to provide a programme in economics and business management which is regularly updated to mirror the evolving job market. A degree in Economics and Management opens up a broad range of career opportunities in entities and businesses, and the functions involved are organisation, management and controlling, finance and accounting, in addition to relationships between businesses, the market and institutions, and in research services.
Studying Economics and Management at Insubria makes it easier to access the profession: an agreement between the University and the Association of Public Accountants, Auditors and Advisors (Ordine dei Dottori Commercialisti ed Esperti Contabili) of Varese exonerates Insubria graduates from taking the first part of the State Exam to become a qualified accountant. Other agreements established with the Association of Public Accountants, Auditors and Advisors (Ordine dei Dottori Commercialisti ed Esperti Contabili) of Varese and the Association of Labour Consultants (Ordine dei Consulenti del Lavoro) also of Varese, enable students in their final year to undertake a 6-month professional placement supervised by a qualified professional enrolled in the Association.
If you are unable to attend a course full time, because you are working or for any other reason, you can attend our part-time programme, where lessons are held in the evening and Saturday mornings. This is a four-year programme and resorts to modern multi-media teaching resources to facilitate the learning process and the completion of the course, regardless whether you have chosen it because you have little time available to study or whether you think that a conventional programme is not the right choice for you.
