DiMIT's Resources

The Department may use teaching rooms located in various buildings, in accordance with University regulations. The main locations used are:

in Varese, at the Bizzozero Campus: the Monte Generoso, Morselli and Antonini buildings, and the Seppilli lecture rooms, for theoretical teaching activities;

PalaInsubria, for practical teaching activities within the Degree Programme in Sport and Exercise Sciences;

in Como, at the Scientific Campus in Via Valleggio;

in Busto Arsizio (VA), the teaching rooms made available by ASST Valle Olona at Busto Arsizio Hospital.

Some practical teaching and placement activities take place in spaces made available by ASST Sette Laghi, ASST Valle Olona, ASST Lariana, ATS Insubria and IRCCS Maugeri.

DiMIT students and staff may use the services offered by the Medicine and Science Library, located in Varese at the Lanzavecchia Building, Via Dunant 3. The main reference texts for study and the leading scientific journals in the medical and biological fields are freely available there in both print and electronic format.

The library also provides remote access to the electronic resources of the University Library System and organises training seminars for students.

Two dedicated teaching laboratories are available to students on degree programmes in the medical, healthcare and sports areas, managed by DiMIT lecturers:

• Human Morphology Laboratory
• Dentistry Laboratory

The Department uses the IT and language laboratories made available by the University in the various buildings in Varese, Como and Busto Arsizio.

To carry out its research activities, the Department uses basic and applied research laboratories, organised according to the specific needs of the different Research Groups. In these laboratories, lecturers, researchers, PhD students, internal students and dissertation students collaborate in the development of research projects.

Clinical research is carried out in the clinical departments located at the hospital sites of reference for the Department.
