Digital accessibility

Digital accessibility within the University’s web ecosystem

The University of Insubria promotes digital accessibility as a fundamental principle to ensure that online information, services and content can be accessed and used by as many people as possible.

Accessibility is more than a legal requirement: it is an essential aspect of the quality of digital services and the inclusion of both the university community and members of the public who interact with the University.

For this reason, the University has launched a programme to monitor and continuously improve the accessibility of its web ecosystem, with the aim of progressively identifying digital barriers, planning corrective measures and improving the usability of its online services over time.

A process of continuous improvement

Digital accessibility requires ongoing assessment, updating and improvement.

The University uses dedicated tools to:

  • monitor website accessibility;
  • identify any issues in relation to the relevant standards;
  • assess the quality and accessibility of documents published online;
  • support analysis and corrective action;
  • guide the development of increasingly inclusive digital services.
Scope

Monitoring and improvement activities are being progressively extended to the main services within the University’s web ecosystem, including:

Accessibility and digital transformation

Accessibility is a key component of the University of Insubria’s digital transformation strategy.

These initiatives form part of the University’s wider efforts to innovate and improve its digital services, with the aim of making information and services increasingly inclusive, effective and easy to use.
