The Future in Memory: Archives, Local Area and Digitalisation

The conference aims to focus attention on archives as a “common good”, highlighting their fundamental role as a “place of memory” and, at the same time, enhancing their essential legal, political, economic, artistic, administrative and operational value and effectiveness, which make them a tool connected to every aspect of daily life: a cultural heritage belonging to the community, which everyone has the right — and the duty — to consult, and from which to draw inspiration for building a better future.

From this perspective, the conference will host academics, institutional representatives and archivists, particularly from the Insubria area, who will be invited to share experiences, approaches, perspectives and significant projects relating to digitalisation.

The conference is funded as part of the University Strategic Plan and organised within the framework of the NODES project, funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research through M4C2 funds — Investment 1.5, Call for Proposals “Innovation Ecosystems” — under the NRRP funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU (Grant Agreement Code No. ECS00000036).
