The service ensures the disposal of waste produced at the University's facilities in compliance with current legislation, as well as the health and safety of staff and users.
The procedures are detailed in the specific paragraphs for the different types of waste produced (assimilable waste and waste from separate collection, special waste, radioactive waste).
All personnel are involved in the waste management process, ensuring correct separation of the types of waste subject to separate collection and sending special waste for correct disposal, as indicated in the ‘Quick Guide’ distributed to personnel and available in the annex.
Waste assimilable to municipal waste and waste from separate collection are delivered to the concessionaires of the collection and public hygiene service.
The facilities take all necessary measures to facilitate the proper separation of separately collected waste and its delivery to the collection service.
The collected waste is delivered to the collection areas and collected according to the collection schedule established by the individual concessionaires.
The separation of waste must be carried out in accordance with the methods defined by the collection service, which differs from city to city and can be found in the quick guide available in the annex.
Special waste is handled by specially trained personnel in accordance with the provisions of the University Regulations for the handling of hazardous and non-hazardous special waste, available in the annex.
Radioactive waste is handled by specially trained personnel. In case of doubt or need, contact the office.
