Internal transfer to another degree programme

Scope: Procedures for students
Recipients: Students
Access methods: Online
Contenuto servizio

Students enrolled in a degree programme at this University may choose to change programmes by submitting a transfer application to their Student Secretariat and, at the same time, requesting recognition of their previous academic career.
Students who transfer may obtain a reduction in the length of their course if the credits acquired in their previous course of study are recognised by the new department. This request must be made at the same time as the transfer request, accompanied, if required, by the programmes of the courses taken during the previous course of study and corresponding to the exams for which recognition is sought.

Important

  • Transfer may only be granted to students who are up to date with their fees for previous years of enrolment and after paying the first instalment of fees for the current academic year, even if it relates to the degree course they wish to change;
  • Students who have transferred in a given academic year may not return to their original degree programme until the following academic year;
  • Students who are admitted by the relevant teaching department to a year of study following the first will still be required to attend the examinations scheduled in previous years of study, except in specific cases of attendance validation decided by the teaching body;
  • For courses with limited enrolment, please refer to the relevant  competition announcement;
  • Students enrolled in a non-single-cycle master's degree programme who intend to transfer to another non-single-cycle master's degree programme at the university must submit a pre-enrolment application in order to verify that they meet the curricular requirements and have the necessary personal preparation.

Please note that from the date of submission of the transfer application, the student's university career and related certification are temporarily suspended. Therefore, until the date of the decision on admission to the new degree programme by the competent academic authority, the student will not be able to take exams, under penalty of their cancellation.

Exclusions: transfer to a degree programme with a structure prior to that of enrolment is not permitted.
Transfers to degree or diploma programmes under the old structure or the new structure (ex 509/99) that have been discontinued will not be permitted, even if they are a continuation of the same degree programme.

Internal transfer applications must be submitted

  • from 10 July 2025 to 31 October 2025 for open access courses;
  • for courses with limited access, please refer to the instructions in the relevant competition notices;
