Enrolled students are automatically assigned a statutory study plan, which includes the compulsory modules.
Subsequently the student must submit their own study plan specifying the optional and elective modules.
- The study plan must comply with the required number of credits to be earned, as well as the restrictions and prerequisite requirements laid down in the regulations governing the degree programme.
- If the study plan is not approved, the student must continue to comply with the previously approved study plan or, where no such plan exists, the standard study plan, until a new study plan is approved.
- A student's right to sit examinations or other assessments relating to specific learning activities is conditional upon those activities being included in the most recently approved study plan.
- Students may not include in their study plan, or sit examinations for, modules offered by another degree programme if those modules are offered by the degree programme in which they are enrolled.
- For students participating in international mobility programmes, where recognised learning activities are not included in the student's most recently approved study plan, the Student Administration Office shall amend the study plan in accordance with the instructions issued by the competent academic body, as part of the recognition procedure.
To facilitate admission to Master's degree programmes, students enrolled on a Bachelor's degree programme may include in their study plan no more than two additional modules beyond those required to obtain their degree. The credits and marks obtained for these additional modules are not included in the calculation of the average examination mark but are recorded in the student's academic record.
A student who has exceeded the prescribed duration of their degree programme and wishes to include an examination relating to a module introduced in an academic year subsequent to the year in which they originally enrolled as a regular student must first amend their study plan to include that module. Approval shall be granted by the competent academic body.
