FAQs – Studying, Taking Exams and Graduating

The lecture timetable for each degree programme can be found on the webpages of the individual courses, in the “Attendance” section, or on the UnInsubria app.
We recommend checking the times and locations of the lectures you plan to attend on a daily basis before going to the University.

The University has scheduled the following closure periods:

  • Christmas holidays: from 24 December 2025 to 6 January 2026 inclusive
  • Easter holidays: from 2 April 2026 to 7 April 2026 inclusive
  • Summer holidays: from 1 to 31 August 2026 inclusive (all degree programmes) – from 1 to 24 August 2026 inclusive (first year of the degree programmes in Medicine and Surgery and in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics)
  • Patron saint’s day:
    • 8 May 2026 – Varese Campus
    • 24 June 2026 – Busto Arsizio Campus
    • 31 August 2026 – Como Campus

The UnInsubria App can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store and Google Play. To log in, you can use your Student Registry Web Services credentials.

You will need it to:

  • register for exams;
  • complete teaching evaluation questionnaires;
  • check your exam average in real time;
  • receive notifications on your mobile device about exam sessions and other notices;
  • check the status of your payments;
  • find University locations;
  • view lecture timetables.

You can find all information about course syllabuses, which will form the content of your exams, on your degree programme webpage, in the “Study plans and syllabuses” section.

Within each year, you will find the list of courses, including general information, learning objectives and content.

If you are attending the 1st year, click the relevant button.
If you are attending the 2nd year or above, follow the instructions available on the page to view the courses from previous years.

You can find the required texts for each course by going to the page of the individual course.

Go to your degree programme webpage, scroll down to “Study plans and syllabuses” and open “1st YEAR”. There you will find the list of first-year courses. If you click on the name of the course, you will find various information, including the reading list.

If you are attending the 2nd year or above, follow the instructions available on the page to view the courses from previous years.

We recommend waiting until the first day of lectures, when lecturers will provide detailed information about the reading list.

The e-learning platform is a tool that supports teaching, allowing students to access learning materials made available by course lecturers and to use a range of collaboration tools, such as forums and tests.

To access the platform, you must use your University credentials: after logging in, the courses included in your study record and associated with your profile will be displayed automatically.

To use the e-learning platform quickly and easily, you can download the Moodle Mobile App.

To check exam dates and times, go to the Student Registry Web Services. In the menu, select “Exams” and then “Exam session noticeboard”, and complete one or more filters, such as period, Department, degree programme, course or lecturer.

To register for exams, log in to your personal area of the Student Registry Web Services using your University credentials, namely the username and password for your @studenti.uninsubria.it email account.

Go to “Exams”, then “Exam sessions”, and select the exam session you wish to register for. Then follow the instructions provided.

As a student, you have access to numerous library services, both in person – at the University’s four libraries – and remotely.

If you are concerned that you may not have chosen the right degree programme for you, the Guidance and Placement Office is available for intra-university guidance interviews.

If you are having difficulty passing certain exams or have gaps in your subject knowledge, need information or assistance with administrative procedures, or would like to discuss your study method with other students, the University provides a tutoring service. Tutors (subject-specific, information and Welcome Lab tutors) are more experienced students who can help you and offer advice.

Finally, if you are going through a difficult period that is negatively affecting your academic career, if you are experiencing relationship difficulties within the university environment, if you are facing stress and anxiety, or if you need support because your chosen study path is not suitable for you, you can use the psychological counselling service.

The first session is free of charge, while any further sessions, scheduled according to the user’s needs, require a contribution of €15 per session
