DMC's Resources

For its teaching activities, the DMC makes use of lecture theatres, teaching laboratories and University facilities. For activities related to scientific research and clinical work, it has access to the scientific laboratories and premises of the relevant hospitals and ASSTs.

The available financial resources are allocated across various sectors with the aim of improving and promoting the Department’s activities; they are directed towards supporting scientific work, including funding for research grants and departmental research fellowships, financial support for publications and the organisation of scientific conferences (subject to evaluation by an ad hoc committee), and for the purchase and maintenance of small equipment.

Teaching rooms

The Department uses the lecture theatres located in various buildings for its teaching activities, in accordance with University regulations. The main venues used are:

in Varese: ASST Sette Laghi, Monte Generoso, Morselli, Antonini and Seppilli pavilions
in Como: ASST Lariana; Via Valleggio
in Tradate: IRCCS Maugeri
in Busto Arsizio (VA): Training Pavilion, Busto Arsizio Hospital.

Libraries and archives

Staff and students of the Department, as well as members of the public, can make use of the services offered by the Varese Library of Medicine and Science, where the leading scientific journals in the fields of biology and medicine, as well as key reference texts for study, are available in both print and electronic formats.

Computer and language laboratories

The Department mainly uses the IT and language laboratories located in the various buildings in Varese: the Monte Generoso, Morselli and Antonini buildings.
