The promotion of knowledge within the DMC ranges from public engagement and technology transfer to the production and management of public goods, and the strategic area of ‘Life Sciences and Health’, which includes clinical trials, initiatives for the prevention, promotion and protection of public health, healthcare activities targeting vulnerable groups, international health cooperation, environmental health and food safety.

Particular emphasis is placed on scientific outreach, open days, meetings with patient associations, prevention and health promotion activities, as well as training initiatives aimed at healthcare professionals and the general public.

Furthermore, the conduct of clinical and population-based studies aimed at prevention and the protection of public health, the participation of DMC faculty in advocacy regarding clinical medicine issues, as well as the provision of highly specialised training aimed at changing the approach to the management of specific conditions through the drafting of ‘Guidelines’ and “Consensus Statements” by highly qualified scientific societies, all contribute to the DMC’s significant international impact.
