The teaching provision of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Sciences focuses on environmental, computing, and humanities disciplines and pursues the goals of developing and disseminating scientific knowledge, including on an interdisciplinary level, as well as training professionals and researchers capable of meeting the scientific and technological needs of society.

Degree programmes

The DiSTA educational offering includes:

  • in the environmental field, the Bachelor's degree in Engineering for Work and Environment Safety (class L-7) and Digital Techniques for the Environment and Constructions (class L-P01) and the Master's degree in Environmental and Workplace Sustainability Engineering (class LM-35);
  • in the computing field, Bachelor's (class L-31) and Master's (class LM-18 – an international programme delivered in English) degree courses in Computer Science;
  • in the humanities field, the Bachelor's degree in Intercultural and Interlinguistic Mediation (class L-12) and the Bachelor's degree in History and Stories of the Contemporary World (class L-42).  

The Department also contributes to the Bachelor's degree in Engineering for Work and Environment Safety (class L-7) and the Master's degree in Environmental Sciences (class LM-75).

Postgraduate programs

The Department organises and participates, within its areas of expertise, in postgraduate training courses at various levels.

The PhD (Doctorate of Research) is a research training programme lasting at least three academic years, which enables students to acquire the skills required to carry out high-level research activities; it also represents an essential step for pursuing a professional career in academia.

DiSTA faculty members take part in several PhD programmes, which represent the natural continuation of the first- and second-cycle degree programmes described above:

Ph.D. - Doctoral programs

University Master's programmes allow students, upon completion of a degree course, to deepen their knowledge in specific scientific fields. They are also open to anyone wishing to attend them for cultural needs, continuing education, or professional development. Master's programmes are offered throughout the year.
