The laboratory carries out activities related to the production of audiovisual and cross-media materials, with the aim of supporting DiSTA’s educational offer and the University’s communication activities. 
The main areas in which the Laboratory operates are:

  1. support and consultancy activities for the University and internal University stakeholders, for the creation of audiovisual and cross-media content related to the communication and promotion of teaching activities, Degree Programmes, research activities, events, initiatives and activities organised by the University;
  2. production of bespoke audiovisual content and materials, through different approaches:
    • entirely designed and produced within the Laboratory’s activities;
    • in collaboration with the University’s educational or communication initiatives;
    • based on specific requests from internal or external stakeholders.

Equipment

  • 1 × 32-inch iMac
  • 1 × Canon MiniDV video camera (not compatible with SD cards)
  • 1 × tripod
  • 2 × boom microphones with stands and microphone covers
  • 1 × handheld microphone

Access conditions 
The use of the Laboratory’s equipment and expertise is available to:

  • DiSTA teaching staff;
  • students enrolled in degree programmes belonging to the Department (in particular, History and Histories of the Contemporary World).

Use by other teaching staff or by students enrolled in other degree programmes is possible subject to prior authorisation by the Head of the Laboratory and the Director of DiSTA. 
Opening times must always be arranged in advance directly with the Head of the Laboratory.
