Applied Microbiology Laboratory - DBSV - Varese

In the laboratory, assays are carried out to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of natural and synthetic substances and to determine photo-oxidative stress induced by products used in cosmetics.

Equipment

• LED illumination unit (Light Cube Spin Off). The system is equipped with interchangeable components (each containing 25 LEDs) and an optical collimation system. It allows irradiation at 410 and 455 nm. Connection to a PC enables the duration and intensity of irradiation to be set.
• PCR My Cycler Bio-Rad and PCR Master Cycler Eppendorf
• Top Safe laminar flow hood
• Class C Heron chemical fume hood
• Stuart incubator for bacterial cultures
• Bio-Rad DNA electrophoresis system
• Bio-Rad Mini-PROTEAN gel apparatus
