The service ensures the disposal of waste produced at University facilities in compliance with current regulations, as well as the health and safety of staff and users.
The methods of execution are detailed in the specific paragraphs for the different types of waste produced (similar waste and separate collection, special waste, radioactive waste).
All staff are involved in the waste management process, ensuring that different types of waste are correctly separated for recycling and that special waste is disposed of correctly, as indicated in the ‘Quick Guide’ distributed to staff and available in the appendix.
Waste similar to urban waste and waste from separate collection is delivered to waste collection and public sanitation service providers.
The facilities take all necessary measures to facilitate the correct separation of waste subject to separate collection and its delivery to the collection service.
The collected waste is delivered to the collection areas and picked up according to the collection schedule established by the individual contractors.
Waste separation must be carried out according to the methods defined by the collection service, which vary from city to city and are listed in the quick guide available in the attachment.
Special waste is managed by specially trained personnel in accordance with the provisions of the University Regulations for the management of hazardous and non-hazardous special waste, available in the annex.
Radioactive waste is handled by specially trained personnel. If in doubt or if necessary, please contact the office.
