The University of Insubria, in collaboration with Confesercenti Regionale Lombardia – Varese branch and Confesercenti Provinciale di Como, is offering the university community a programme of benefits at participating local businesses.

The initiative provides access to discounts and special terms at participating businesses, promoting the wellbeing of the university community and supporting local businesses.

The service is aimed at:

  • students;
  • teaching staff;
  • researchers;
  • technical, administrative and library staff at the University of Insubria.

Participating businesses can offer discounts and special deals across a range of sectors, including:

  • catering (breakfast, lunch and dinner);
  • shops and retail outlets;
  • sports equipment;
  • clothing;
  • personal services;
  • cultural and leisure activities.

Further services will join the scheme as the initiative progresses.

The list of participating businesses is updated regularly.

To claim the benefits, simply present:

  • your student card or another form of identification issued by the University, if you are a student;
  • your staff badge or another document proving your affiliation with the University, if you are a member of staff.

Varese

  • AG Caffè – breakfast, lunch, aperitif. 15% discount. Fixed student menu (dish + drink). Example: first course + water, from €8.50 to €7. Valid also on public holidays.
  • Vibes – lunch. 20% student discount on purchases. Not valid on public holidays.
  • La Yogurteria – breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner. Breakfast combo with hot drink, croissant and orange juice or fruit juice for €4.50; lunch with large yogurt and water for €5; snack with crêpe and Maxy Bubble Tea for €8; dinner with a slice of cheesecake and water for €5. Valid also on public holidays.
  • La Vineria – lunch and dinner. Student menu with one first course chosen from two daily options for €8 instead of €12. Not valid on public holidays.
  • Ristorante Al Vicolino – lunch. Student menu: first course chosen from the daily menu + water for €8 instead of €10; second course + water for €12 instead of €14. Not valid on public holidays.
  • Caffè Lyceum – breakfast and lunch. Student breakfast for €3.50 instead of €3.80; dish of the day and drink for €9 instead of €13. Not valid on public holidays.
  • Cyclery – lunch. Sandwich + soft drink at a fixed student price of €10; the file also mentions a €10 option with beer for sandwiches priced at €7. Not valid on public holidays.
  • W11 Original Alpine Restaurant – lunch, aperitif and dinner. Lunch menu with drink and coffee for €12 or €14.50; with the loyalty card, every 7 lunches the 8th is free, and an additional 15% discount is also indicated. Not valid on public holidays.
  • Così Com’è – lunch and dinner. At lunch, choice of Margherita, Cosacca or Marinara pizza + water for €10. At dinner, 10% discount on the bill from Tuesday to Thursday, subject to the exclusions indicated in the file. Not valid on public holidays.
  • Zona Franca Take Away Gourmet – lunch. Dish + water with a 20% to 30% discount. Examples include: lasagna from €11 to €8; vegetables from €9 to €6.50; Oriental-style chicken with basmati rice from €14 to €10; savoury pies from €6/7 to €4/5; soup or basmati rice with vegetables from €10 to €7; Oriental-style tempeh with basmati rice from €14 to €10; slice of cake from €5 to €3.50. Vegetarian, vegan and/or gluten-free options available, except for the chicken dish. Valid on public holidays.
  • Drogheria Vercellini – food/gourmet shop. 10% discount on purchases, excluding Christmas and Easter periods and seasonal products. Special offer available upon presentation of a university ID card.
  • thenewnew – clothing/accessories. 10% discount for students upon presentation of a university ID card.
  • Too Sisters – clothing/accessories. 20% discount on purchases, excluding items already on promotion, jewellery and Grace&Mila products.
  • L’Invidia Caffè – café. Cappuccino + croissant €3 instead of €3.50; coffee + croissant €2.60 instead of €2.90; sandwich + water €6 instead of €8.
  • Crespi Sport Luino – clothing/accessories. 15% discount on sportswear, valid until 31 December 2026.
  • Teatro Intred di Varese – cultural and recreational activities. Discounted tickets are available for selected performances. 20% discount in all seating areas except VIP Stalls; some performances may be excluded from the promotion.

Como

  • Bar BAC – Via Vittorio Emanuele II 27/A. First course, piadina or sandwich + water for €8.
  • C’era una volta – Via Anzani – Via Anzani 35. Round pizza or kebab sandwich + soft drink for €7.50, with the student discount already included.
  • Che Pizza! Pizza al Trancio – Via Milano 137. Margherita pizza slice + soft drink for €4; topped pizza slice + soft drink for €5, with the student discount already included.
  • K2 Kebab Doner Kebab – Via Milano 238. 10% discount.
  • L’Alternativo – Via Asiago 25/C. 10% discount.
  • La Caveja – Via Cadorna 29. 10% discount.
  • La Svolta 2 – Via Milano 20. 10% discount.
  • Ma Dai… – Via Canturina 64. Piadina + water + coffee for €7.
  • Paradise Pizza – Via Cigalini 5/B. Takeaway round Margherita pizza + water for €6.
