The Confidential Counsellor is an impartial figure to whom anyone working within the University can turn to report any incidents of discrimination, sexual and moral harassment or mobbing.
She also has the task of seeking conciliatory solutions, including through prevention techniques.
In carrying out her duties, the Confidential Counsellor is required to guarantee the utmost confidentiality of the information acquired.
The Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union begins in Article 1 with the statement that ‘human dignity is inviolable. It must be respected and protected’.
The protection of human dignity is even given priority over the ‘protection of the right to life for every individual’ enshrined in Article 2 of the Treaty, demonstrating the exceptional significance and importance of this value.
The Confidential Counsellor, as well as the effective work of the Single Guarantee Committee (CUG), aims to reconcile the productivity of the Organisation with the well-being of its workers.
It also aims to collaborate in ensuring a peaceful environment for study and university life.
