Discussing, negotiating and seeking agreement on major issues on the international agenda while taking on the role of delegates representing a United Nations Member State. This is the experience offered by Vimun – Voices for Impact, the Model United Nations conference that will bring together young delegates in Marrakech from 14 to 20 March 2027 for a week-long simulation of UN proceedings. The initiative is held under the patronage of the University of Insubria.

The project was developed within Associazione Alternativa with a clear vision: at a time when global challenges call for greater dialogue, cooperation and mutual understanding, young people must have the opportunity to play an active role in international discussions. Vimun provides a platform where participants can make their voices heard, engage with different perspectives and turn ideas into action, while developing and testing their diplomacy, communication and leadership skills.

Participation is open to young people aged 18 to 35, including university students, PhD candidates and researchers, young professionals, and members of associations and NGOs.

The programme begins before departure, with four preparatory lessons conducted in English, supported by educational materials, and a virtual conference. In Marrakech, the week begins with an opening ceremony and a guided tour of the city. This is followed by two full days of committee sessions and a day of thematic workshops, culminating in the closing ceremony. During the conference, delegates will meet academics, United Nations experts and representatives of international organisations, and take part in discussions with artificial intelligence experts.

As at the United Nations, all proceedings are conducted entirely in English and follow a formal code of conduct, which also requires business attire. Each participant will have personal access to the project's online platform to upload their documents. The materials produced during the conference may also be published on the platform.

The initiative is organised in collaboration with Fondation Anouat pour Droits et Développement, Al-Zawia Al-Kheir Foundation, Redesm, Epik Leaders, The Moroccan Pulse, Ra'edat and Co.c.ima.

Registration is open until 20 February 2027 via the website www.voicesforimpact.eu, where a brochure is available with full details about participation, including the optional excursion to Essaouira.
