SIP-Lo Congress 2026 in Varese: young people and mental health at the centre of the debate between clinical practice, services and the community

On 1 October 2026, the University of Insubria will host, at the «Granero Porati» Lecture Hall in Varese, the Congress of the Lombardy Regional Section of the Italian Society of Psychiatry (SIP-Lo)  «Hot Topics in Mental Health», dedicated to the new challenges in the mental health of adolescents and young adults.

The congress will bring together specialists, researchers and healthcare professionals to discuss new psychopathological conditions in developmental age, new psychoactive substances, neurodevelopmental disorders, self-harming behaviours and emergency situations. Other topics will include the impact of digital technologies on development and mental health, the role of families, and the need to integrate Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatry, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, addiction services (SerD), emergency services and community-based care.

The scientific coordinator of the event is Camilla Callegari, Full Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Insubria and a member of the SIP-Lo Board.

The congress will take place on Thursday 1 October, starting at 9:00 am, in the «Granero Porati» Lecture Hall, Via Dunant 3, Varese. Registration is free and required in advance. The event is accredited for CME.
