Publishing date: 16 September 2026 Immagine notizia Immagine Paragrafo Davide Spanu, a researcher at the Department of Science and Advanced Technology at the University of Insubria, is among the young Italian scholars honoured by the Italian Chemical Society for their contribution to analytical chemistry. The award was presented in Venice during the 32nd National Congress of the Analytical Chemistry Division, which brought together around 400 participants from across Italy between 6 and 10 September 2026.Aimed at researchers under the age of 35, the 2026 Young Researcher Award recognises scientific work of particular significance in the field. Davide Spanu was recognised for his work in the field of elemental speciation and the development of innovative analytical methodologies for environmental and industrial applications. Immagine During the conference, Dr Spanu also delivered the inaugural keynote lecture entitled ‘Less Is More: Simplifying Routine Elemental Speciation’, which focused on the role of elemental speciation in assessing the toxicity, bioavailability and mobility of elements, and on the analytical approaches developed at the University of Insubria.This achievement confirms the quality of the research carried out at the Department of Science and High Technology and the University’s contribution to the development of advanced methodologies in the field of analytical chemistry.
