The University of Insubria has opened enrolment for four new postgraduate courses focusing on language teaching, literature and intercultural communication, with specific modules for English, French, German and Spanish. The initiative is organised by the Department of Human Sciences and Territorial Innovation and is aimed at practising teachers, trainee teachers, language training professionals and those working in the field of intercultural mediation.

The courses have been developed in response to an educational landscape in which the teaching of foreign languages requires an ever-closer integration of linguistic, literary and intercultural skills. The lessons will cover theoretical and methodological aspects relating to the history of literature, literary criticism, text analysis techniques and translation, with the aim of developing advanced skills in reading, interpreting and teaching literary texts in a foreign language.

The four courses, led by Professor Paolo Nitti, will run from November 2026 to May 2027 in a blended format, comprising 168 hours of online learning and 12 hours of face-to-face sessions in Varese.

Admission requires a three-year degree and a knowledge of Italian at least at C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Enrolment will open in September.
