The fourth edition of the «Giovanni Valcavi» Summer School has concluded at the Bizzozero Campus in Varese of the University of Insubria. The initiative is promoted by the Giovanni Valcavi Foundation in collaboration with the Department of Economics, a Department of Excellence.
From 29 June to 3 July, the School brought together students, PhD candidates, researchers and professionals to explore the dialogue between law, behavioural economics and cognitive sciences. The training programme addressed highly topical areas, ranging from nudging to behavioural finance, from corporate governance to tax compliance, and including applications of artificial intelligence.
Established by the Foundation in memory of lawyer Giovanni Valcavi, with the aim of encouraging young scholars to pursue multidisciplinary research paths between law and economics, the Summer School once again confirms its value as a space for advanced training, scientific debate and dialogue between different fields of expertise.
Particularly significant is the relationship built over the years with participants: some young researchers and professionals who had taken part in previous editions were invited this year as speakers, sharing with the new generation of students the results of their research and the experience gained in academic and professional contexts.
The scientific and academic direction of the School was entrusted to professors Francesco Vella of the University of Bologna, Rossella Locatelli and Ilaria Capelli of the University of Insubria, who coordinated a programme capable of combining scientific rigour, an interdisciplinary approach and openness to dialogue among economists, legal scholars and researchers in the cognitive sciences.
