Immagine During 2018, Politecnico di Milano, with which the University had long shared both premises (at the Science Campus) and relationships with the local area, dating back to the time of the degree courses originating from the University of Milan, announced the closure of its Como campus, thereby freeing up both physical space and opportunities for development.The University of Insubria thus became the city’s university, and DiSAT its main scientific department: a reality which, over the years, has drawn on its own resources — in terms of people, expertise and spaces — to build relationships with local stakeholders, becoming a genuine point of reference for education and for the economic and scientific development of society. Teaching Rooms The Department may make use of the teaching rooms located in the various buildings, in accordance with University regulations. The teaching rooms are located in Como, across all sites of the Science Campus (Via Castelnuovo, the Ring Building, the Tower and the Piazza in Via Valleggio); they vary in size and features, including videoconferencing facilities.In the Tower building in Via Valleggio, there is also a lecture hall (Aula Magna F. Casati) with 200 seats. Our Teaching Classrooms The Library Department staff and students, as well as members of the public, may make use of the services offered by the Como Science Library, which forms part of the University Library System.The library is located in Via Valleggio 11, Como; it provides access to the electronic resources of the University Library System, to geological and topographical maps (around 10,000 monographs and about thirty printed journals), photocopying services, access to resources on optical media such as databases on CD and DVD, and audio materials for language learning. The IT and Language Laboratory DiSAT has a laboratory located in Via Valleggio 11, Como, equipped with 37 workstations. IT and language laboratories Research Laboratories and Equipment DiSAT boasts several state-of-the-art laboratories for teaching and research activities across all its areas of expertise.
