Certificate requests

Article no. 15 of the law no. 183/2011, effective as of 1 January 2012, modified the Decree of the President of the Republic no. 445/2000, which contained the unified text of the legislative and regulatory provisions on administrative documents.

Specifically, “The certificates issued by the public administration on states, personal qualities and facts are valid and may be used only in private relations. In relations with public administration bodies and the managers of public services, certificates and affidavits are always substituted by the declarations provided for in articles no. 46 and 47 (self-certifications).

Certificates for private subjects must bear, under penalty of invalidity, the following wording: “This certificate may not be produced to public administration bodies or to the private managers of public services”.

Therefore, in compliance with the new law, the University of Insubria will exclusively issue certificates which are valid and may be used only in private relations, which bear the wording: “This certificate may not be given to public administration bodies or private managers of public services”, as provided for by the law.

How to request a certificate

Requests via email
In order to have a certificate issued, in Italian or English, applicants must fill in the specific application form, see below, and send it to scuola.dottorato@uninsubria.it.

  • Once the request has been received, the Doctoral School will charge a stamp duty of 16.00 euros for the request and of 16.00 euros for each requested certificate, which will be displayed in the personal web page and which will have to be paid through the PagoPA platform.
  • Once the payment has been received, the School will send the requested certificate, if requested with digital signature, to the institutional email address or, in the event of closed careers, to the email address provided in the request.

Request through postal service
Should the interested party want the document delivered, they will have to attach, besides the certificate, which should be sent following the instructions above, the payment receipt for an amount of 5.00 euros for shipping in Italy and of 8.00 euros for shipping abroad. The shipping expenses only must be paid through the PagoPA payment notification.

In compliance with article no. 15 of the Law no. 183/2011, effective as of 1 January 2012, Public Administrations and the Managers of public services may not request or accept from private parties the certificates issued by other public offices.

In such cases, citizens must self-certificate their possession of the requirements.

Public Administrations and the Managers of public services must accept all self-certifications, under penalty of infringement of their official duties.

The certificates, as clarified above, are valid and may be used only in relations among private parties.

Students may, therefore, download and print the following types of pre-compiled self-certifications from the Students Support Web Services:

  • enrollment years self-certification
  • enrollment and exams self-certification
  • final exam and exams self-certification
  • annual fees self-certification.

Please remember that the student’s personal account will be canceled one year after the final exam.
