The General Student Council (CGS) of the University of Insubria is organising NextGen Campus Insubria, a morning of interdisciplinary discussion dedicated to the major challenges of the present and the future. The event will take place on Friday 16 October, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in Room 11MTG of the Monte Generoso building at the Bizzozero Campus in Varese.
The initiative was created by students to provide an opportunity for dialogue with University faculty, bringing together different perspectives and areas of expertise to explore three key topics in contemporary debate: environmental sustainability, geopolitics and artificial intelligence.
The General Student Council coordinates student representation at the University of Insubria and performs advisory and proposal-making functions on matters concerning students. Through this initiative, the Council aims to promote participation and discussion among students from different degree programmes.
The morning will be divided into two thematic sessions and a concluding round table.
The first session will focus on contemporary geopolitical changes, examined from different disciplinary perspectives, ranging from international law and economics to technology and communication.
The second session will address the main environmental challenges and the development of sustainable development models, through a multidisciplinary approach involving engineering, biology, law and economics.
The programme will conclude with a round table on artificial intelligence, exploring its impact on the different areas discussed during the event, from research to everyday life.
