The University of Insubria is hosting the presentation of «Flashback», the new book by journalist and university lecturer Matteo Inzaghi, published by De Piante Editore, on Wednesday 27 May at 6 p.m. in the Aula Magna at Via Ravasi 2, Varese.

The volume offers a journey through American cinema of the Eighties, explored not merely as a cinematic phenomenon but as a political, cultural and social reflection of a decade that profoundly shaped the collective imagination and an entire generation. From the landmark blockbusters of the era to the sweeping changes of Reagan's America, «Flashback» examines how cinema contributed to redefining models, languages and worldviews.

Matteo Inzaghi is a journalist, director of Rete55, author of essays on the relationship between cinema and society, and a lecturer at the University of Insubria. In recent months the book has been presented at numerous public events, including at the Chamber of Deputies, in the press room of Montecitorio.

For the 27 May event, Rector Maria Pierro will be in attendance to deliver institutional greetings. In conversation with the author will be Professor Paola Biavaschi, Director of the Department of Human Sciences and Innovation for the Territory. Introductory remarks will be delivered by Giorgio La Rosa and Deborah Toschi, with musical interludes by violinist Alice Cansirro Cortorillo.

Admission is free.
