On Monday 6 July, “CineScience” returns for its fifth edition. Organised by the University of Insubria’s Research Centre for Neuroscience, directed by Professor Lia Forti, the series brings together cinema, science communication and discussion with the audience.
The event will take place at 8.30 p.m. at Villa Calcaterra in Busto Arsizio and will feature a screening of “Erin Brockovich”, directed by Steven Soderbergh. Produced in the United States in 2000, the film has a running time of 131 minutes. It tells the story of an empathetic and resourceful woman who, while looking for a job, finds herself seeking justice for a community affected by the consequences of a serious environmental disaster.
The screening will be introduced and discussed by Cristiana Morosini, an environmental engineer from the University of Insubria’s Department of Science and High Technology, and lawyer Federico Vanetti, a partner at Chiomenti law firm. Through a dialogue with the audience, they will explore issues related to corporate responsibility, public health protection and environmental sustainability.
The series is organised in collaboration with the Busto Arsizio Municipal Library and the Michelangelo Antonioni Film Institute, under the patronage of the Municipality of Busto Arsizio.
