The University of Insubria is featured in the World University Rankings 2026 published today by the prestigious British magazine Times Higher Education, which evaluates the best universities in the world.
In this edition, the university ranks in the 601–800 group, in an international comparison that includes 2,191 institutions from 115 countries and territories.
Globally, the University of Oxford retains its top position for the tenth consecutive year, followed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA), Princeton University (USA) and the University of Cambridge (UK).
In Italy, the University of Bologna tops the ranking for the sixth consecutive year, followed by the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa and Sapienza University of Rome.
Insubria ranks 36th among the 54 Italian universities listed.
The ranking is based on 18 performance indicators, divided into five pillars: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, International Outlook and Industry.
In particular, Insubria scores above average in three out of five pillars (Research Quality, Research Environment and Industry), confirming its constant improvement in values related to research and knowledge transfer.
The results for the Research Quality pillar are excellent, placing the University in 359th place worldwide for research quality.
