The new Territorial Government Plan (PGT) of the City of Varese, presented to the press on 23 July, also benefited from the scientific contribution of the University of Insubria. Professors Raffaello Seri, from the Department of Economics, and Emanuele Boscolo, from the Department of Law, Economics and Cultures, attended the presentation on behalf of the University's working groups that contributed to the development of the new planning instrument.
The new PGT sets out a development strategy based on urban regeneration, the redevelopment of the existing building stock, environmental sustainability and the strengthening of local services, defining five strategic priorities for the city's development over the coming years.
The participation of Insubria's academics highlights the University's role as a scientific partner of local institutions, providing research expertise to address complex issues such as spatial planning, sustainable development and urban policies.
