The University of Insubria is taking part in the tour of the “Generazione Rispetto: adesso tocca a noi” (“Generation Respect: now it’s up to us”) Commitment Charter, promoted by the Lombardy Region. The initiative will stop in Varese, at the Morselli Pavilion, Via Ottorino Rossi 9, from 26 October to 1 November.
Below we publish the press release sent to the Opinione news agency.

The “Generazione Rispetto: adesso tocca a noi” (“Generation Respect: now it’s up to us”) Commitment Charter, promoted by the Lombardy Region to strengthen a culture of respect, equality and the prevention of and fight against violence against women, is coming to Lombardy’s universities as part of a travelling exhibition.
Following the signing of the Charter last 25 November, the document is now being brought to universities across the region to directly engage younger generations and give students the opportunity to learn about the initiative and sign the Commitment Charter themselves.
The initiative stems from the desire to create a prevention and awareness-raising programme that places university students, female anti-violence network workers under the age of 35 and young local government representatives from municipalities across Lombardy at the centre of the process.
The Charter sets out intentions, values and concrete actions to promote respect and equality and combat all forms of violence against women, including physical, psychological, economic and digital violence.
“Lombardy Region – said Elena Lucchini, Councillor for Family, Social Solidarity, Disability and Equal Opportunities – wishes to thank you and recognises the value of the work carried out over these months to produce the text of the Commitment Charter as the highest and most virtuous testimony of the genuine determination to promote a culture of respect. The Charter is part of the broader commitment of the Region, which is pursued through prevention and education initiatives, the strengthening of local networks and protection services, and aims to combat all forms of violence: not only the better-known forms, such as physical, psychological and economic violence, but also more insidious and emerging forms, such as digital violence.”
The tour will also bring a travelling exhibition to the universities, providing an opportunity for information, reflection and participation.
The invitation to the university community is clear: visit the exhibition and sign the Commitment Charter, thereby helping to promote a culture of respect and combat all forms of violence.
The exhibition will visit the following universities in Lombardy:
- Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano (Largo Gemelli, 1 – Milan), 8–18 October;
- Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca (Piazza dell’Ateneo Nuovo, 1 – Milan), 19–25 October;
- Università degli Studi dell’Insubria (Morselli Pavilion, Via Ottorino Rossi, 9 – Varese), 26 October–1 November;
- Università degli Studi di Bergamo (Via Salvecchio, 19 – Bergamo), 26–30 October;
