Professor Vincenzo Torretta, Full Professor of Environmental Sanitary Engineering at the Department of Theoretical and Applied Sciences of the University of Insubria, has received a lifetime achievement award at the 2nd International Conference on Circularity, Sustainability and Resilience in Water, Wastewater and Sludge Management (CSRW26), held in Thessaloniki from 29 March to 1 April.
As stated in the certificate presented to Professor Torretta, the award was conferred "for his studies aimed at improving circularity, sustainability and resilience in water, wastewater and sludge management" – a citation that highlights the scientific value of a body of research developed around themes that are today central to environmental protection, the sustainable use of resources, and innovation in water cycle management systems.
The award was presented during the opening ceremony of the conference; the recognition takes the form of an official certificate and a small statuette – tangible tokens of an academic and scientific profile acknowledged at international level, which confirm the quality of the research conducted at Insubria in a strategic field closely linked to the challenges of sustainability, the circular economy, and environmental resilience.
