Rome, 31 July 2026 – The new free MOOD web platform is now online, designed to provide students preparing for the Open Semester in Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine with useful content and tools for guidance and exam preparation.
Developed in collaboration with thefaculty, the MOOD platform offers free access to more than 100 hours of theoretical, introductory and syllabus-specific video lessons in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, the core subjects of the Open Semester, delivered by lecturers working with MOOD. Students also have access to the app, available on both mobile devices and computers, featuring an adaptive study plan that updates according to each student's progress, as well as mind maps and flashcards to reinforce learning, subject-based practice sessions, mock tests and exercises with thousands of commented questions, including both multiple-choice and completion formats, also available in a gamified version with comparative rankings.
The new webpage, also accessible through Universitaly, makes it easier to consult the available learning resources. MOOD is a project involving 44 Italian universities, funded by the Ministry of University and Research (MUR) and promoted by the Permanent Conferences of the Presidents of Medicine and Surgery and of Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics. Thanks to its collaboration with the technology partner thefaculty, the project aims to support students free of charge throughout their journey, from guidance to preparation, for admission to degree programmes in the fields of medicine and dentistry.
After supporting more than 50,000 students during the previous academic year together with thefaculty, MOOD renews its commitment for 2026 by expanding the range of free tools available to students. The initiative complements other resources promoted by the Ministry of University and Research, such as the platform developed by CRUI and CISIA, with the goal of making the Open Semester increasingly accessible, well-structured and responsive to students' needs.
