During the week of 24–29 June, Professors Carlo Brambilla and Raffaello Seri from the Department of Economics at the University of Insubria were guests at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The visit provided an opportunity to discuss new opportunities for collaboration between the Department of Economics and HUIT. In particular, together with the Director of the International Institute, Professor Hồ Thanh Trí, and the Director of the Department of International Business, Professor Huỳnh Quang Linh, a dual-degree agreement was finalised between the Master’s degree programme in Global Entrepreneurship, Economics and Management at the University of Insubria and the Master’s degree programme in International Business at HUIT. This is the first dual-degree agreement signed by the University with a university in a non-European country.

During their visit, Carlo Brambilla and Raffaello Seri also attended the ICE 2026 (International Conference on Economics). The event, organised by the University of Insubria in collaboration with HUIT, Texas A&M University (United States), Kyung Hee University and Sun Moon University (South Korea), as well as Shinawatra University (Thailand), featured Professor Brambilla as one of the keynote speakers, alongside Truong Gia Bao (DTS Group, Vietnam), Zhang Lin (Bank of China), Doris Ifeoma Ogueri (Shinawatra University, Thailand) and Tin Doan (Northumbria University, United Kingdom).
