The Chorus Insubriae, the University of Insubria’s choir, brings its choral season to a close with its traditional candlelit concert, scheduled for Monday 13 July at 9.15 pm in the open-air amphitheatre behind the Aula Magna of the Collegio Cattaneo in Varese.
This event, now a firm fixture in the University’s musical calendar, promises another evening steeped in the evocative atmosphere created by candlelight. Conducted by Maestro Pietro Colnago, the Chorus Insubriae will present an eclectic programme, featuring pieces from different genres and eras.
The concert will also provide an opportunity to celebrate a significant accolade won by the choir. During the evening, the ‘Feluca d’oro’ – an award won by Chorus Insubriae at Unincanto, the National University Choirs Festival held in Urbino on 30 and 31 May – will be presented to the Rector, Maria Pierro.
The presentation to the Rector will have symbolic significance: the award will be shared with the entire academic community as a testament to the choir’s artistic journey and the University’s commitment to promoting culture, music and participation.
The concert brings the choir’s activities for the academic year to a close and marks a moment of celebration for the achievement and for the audience that has consistently followed Chorus Insubriae’s journey.
Admission is free.
