The University of Insubria has launched the University Anti-Violence Support Desk, in partnership with Fondazione Felicita Morandi ETS, as part of the Varese Anti-Violence Network.
The service is intended as a dedicated point of contact for listening, information, initial support and guidance towards Anti-Violence Centres and the competent local services. Its aim is to help combat gender-based violence in all its forms: psychological, physical, economic, digital, within and outside the family context.
The Support Desk is part of the initiatives promoted by the University to foster the well-being of the academic community, prevent distress and promote a culture of respect, awareness and equal opportunities.
The service is provided by the University of Insubria in collaboration with Fondazione Felicita Morandi ETS, an organisation that has been committed since 2005 to protecting women victims of violence and their children, and is active within the local Anti-Violence Network.
Listening and guidance activities are carried out by the specialist workers of the Foundation’s Anti-Violence Centre, who are available on the Bizzozero Campus every Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The service is intended for female students and female staff of the University of Insubria.
The Support Desk offers a safe and professional space dedicated to listening, information and guidance towards local support services, with the aim of encouraging the early identification of situations of vulnerability and accompanying people towards appropriate support pathways.
The University Anti-Violence Support Desk is located on the first floor of the Antonini Pavilion, in via Ottorino Rossi, Varese, in the Teacher Training Centre, Rosa classroom.
Access is free and no appointment is required, every Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
For direct contact, the dedicated number +39 339 465 8579 is also available.
The service is also expected to be activated shortly at the Como campus.
The service is free of charge.
