The University of Insubria is hosting the «2026 Chemometrics Workshop» in Como, at the Chiostro di Sant'Abbondio, a national event of the Chemometrics Thematic Group of the Italian Chemical Society. The workshop will take place from 25 to 27 May and will focus on the discipline that applies artificial intelligence methodologies and advanced data analysis to the study of complex chemical problems.
The event is organised by Barbara Giussani, Associate Professor at the Department of Science and High Technology, together with colleagues from the analytical chemistry research team Davide Spanu and Manuel Monti. The programme includes scientific presentations and contributions on applications of broader public interest: from food safety and quality control to the conservation and analysis of works of art, as well as forensic science and the challenges of industrial innovation.
Alongside the workshop days, on 27 and 28 May a training session is also scheduled, comprising the course «Applied Hyperspectral Imaging: chemometric strategies and hands-on Hyper-Tools 4», delivered by Professor José Manuel Amigo Rubio of the University of the Basque Country, covering chemometric strategies and practical activities on tools and methods for hyperspectral analysis.
