Representatives from the professional sector collaborate in the design of the Degree Programme (CdS) of the Department of DiSAT and that of the Department of DiSTA, providing valuable input for defining and updating professional profiles. They also perform consultative functions in the planning of internships and contribute to assessing the effectiveness of the educational pathway.
The primary objective of this activity is to maintain an ongoing dialogue between the demand for and the supply of education, by sharing the Degree Programme’s educational framework and fostering effective collaboration with scientific and professional organisations, as well as representatives from the cultural and production sectors, including at the international level, not only during the initial establishment of the Programme.
The Advisory Board (CdI) of the Bachelor’s Degree Programme ISLA and the Master’s Degree Programme IASAL is a single body which, however, has adopted a flexible structure organised into four thematic subgroups (Environment; Safety; Communication/Relations; Alumni), with the aim of promptly addressing any emerging issues related to the educational offer or the promotion of events and initiatives falling within more specific thematic areas.
Faculty representatives of the degree programmes include Prof. Cristiana Morosini (affiliated with the Department of Science and High Technology – DiSAT), Coordinator of the Advisory Board and responsible for organising activities, chairing meetings and recording minutes, together with Profs. Bruno Dal Lago (Chair of the ISLA and IASAL Degree Programme Board), Vincenzo Torretta, Fabio Conti and Elisabetta Sieni (internal members affiliated with the Department of Theoretical and Applied Sciences – DiSTA).
The Advisory Board also includes, on a permanent basis, three representatives from external business and industrial organisations, as well as one alumnus of the ISLA Bachelor’s Degree Programme and the IASAL Master’s Degree Programme, each serving as the lead for a thematic subgroup. Since 2024, these members have been joined by four additional figures acting as deputy leads or co-leads.
This subgroup reflects one of the professional profiles (“technical competences”) developed by the two Degree Programmes (ISLA Bachelor’s Degree and IASAL Master’s Degree) and aims to support the University by proposing events and courses designed to enhance various educational activities, including practical exercises, technical visits and the development of soft skills.
Its objective is to respond to the needs of various stakeholders (employers) by implementing professionalising activities that complement academic teaching.
By way of example, though not exhaustively, it includes the participation of numerous operators of wastewater treatment plants, designers in the field of water management and remediation, environmental consultants, public and regulatory bodies, as well as professional associations and orders.
- Lead: Dr Patrizia Favaron (Servizi Territorio S.r.l.)
- Deputy Lead: Eng. Luca Franceschini (Turning Stones)
This subgroup focuses on developing so-called “transversal competences” or “soft skills”.
It promotes, both within and outside the University, the Advisory Board’s distinctive and innovative profile through the creation, organisation and implementation of professional and educational initiatives and events led by sector experts and aimed at students, with the objective of delivering an educational offer aligned with labour market needs and emerging professional roles (Environmental Consultant; Auditor and/or Consultant for ISO Management Systems 9001, 14001, 45001; Qualified Health and Safety Consultant and Trainer; HSE Manager; Expert Manager in Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility and Disaster Manager).
It is responsible for promoting the Advisory Board’s initiatives externally (aimed at enhancing the visibility of both Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Programmes, with the goal of increasing enrolment, including among female students) through dedicated communication and outreach campaigns, using media and social platforms, as well as the production and publication of articles, interviews, videos and the organisation of ad hoc events.
In line with its guiding principle, “human beings are relationships, and relationships are communication”, it develops, proposes and delivers innovative and experiential learning opportunities (such as orientation seminars, Case Studies and practical exercises) designed to enhance students’ managerial, decision-making, communication and interpersonal skills. These activities strengthen both technical-practical and problem-solving competences, while identifying and promoting individual talent, with the aim of developing clearly defined leadership, managerial, technical-practical, communication and relational capabilities.

- Deputy Lead: Eng. Elena De Lucia (private sector employee)

Co-leads: Eng. Paolo Berlusconi (Campo dei Fiori Srl) and Eng. Ambra Roversi (Freelance Professional)

Having gained direct experience within the University, the members of this subgroup are able to highlight both the strengths and the critical aspects encountered during their academic path.
They can also serve as a point of reference for current students and act as their representatives within the Advisory Board, conveying their needs with the aim of improving the educational pathway offered by the ISLA Bachelor’s Degree and the IASAL Master’s Degree Programmes.
