Yes.
Please bear in mind, however, that admission to a PhD programme entails an exclusive, full-time commitment. For this reason, at the time of enrolment, employees in either the public or private sector must inform the University of their employment commitments.

The Academic Board of each PhD programme will assess whether the employment activities are compatible with the successful completion of the training, teaching and research activities.

Public-sector employees admitted to a PhD programme are entitled, for the standard duration of the programme, to the leave of absence provided for by collective bargaining agreements or, if they are employees governed by public law, to extraordinary leave for study purposes, subject to the needs of the relevant administration, pursuant to Article 2 of Law No. 476 of 13 August 1984. This may be with or without pay and without prejudice to any express waiver, and applies only if they are enrolling in a PhD programme for the first time, regardless of the disciplinary field.

Once you have completed your application for the selection procedure, you will be able to view and print the application receipt via the Student Administration Web Services. The receipt must be kept by the candidate.

No.
Applications for admission must be submitted exclusively online by accessing the Student Administration Web Services by, and no later than, the mandatory deadline indicated in the call for applications.

Some of the required qualifications are mandatory. If they are not uploaded, it is not possible to continue completing the application.

For mandatory qualifications, the minimum number of documents that can be uploaded, shown beside the relevant section, is 1, whereas for optional qualifications the minimum number is 0.

A substitute declaration of certification, or self-certification, is a signed declaration on plain paper — not on stamped paper — in which the applicant makes a statement under their own responsibility.

The templates for self-certifications are available in the document attached to the call for applications for each PhD programme.

Non-EU citizens who are legally residing in Italy may use self-certification, in Italian or English, only for statuses, facts and personal qualities that can be certified or attested by Italian public authorities.

For anything else, suitable supporting documentation must be attached.

These are places offered under the selection procedure where the scholarship is tied to a specific research topic, which must be pursued during the PhD programme.

Some programmes require candidates to reach a minimum threshold in the assessment of qualifications in order to proceed to the oral examination.
