The University of Insubria is organising an online information session for all students interested in the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Biotechnology.
The meeting will take place on Teams on 30 June at 5 p.m. via the following link: «Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Biotechnology | Join the meeting | Microsoft Teams».
The online session will precede the in-person Open Day scheduled for 3 July 2026, from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. During the Open Day, participants will be able to visit the Department, learn more about the degree programme and gather all the information they need to make an informed choice about their studies.
The online event will primarily provide details about the new admission procedure for the 155 available places, introduced for the 2026/2027 academic year.
Limited enrolment ensures that students receive the highest possible quality of education. At the University of Insubria, the programme includes extensive laboratory activities, initiatives designed to support students as they enter the labour market and opportunities for the most highly motivated students. Maintaining a balance between the number of enrolled students and the available resources is essential to provide high-quality education with a strong focus on employability, in line with the needs of the labour market.
The biotechnology sector continues to play a strategic role in the economy of Lombardy and neighbouring Canton Ticino, with growing demand for graduates possessing strong scientific and professional skills.
Starting this year, admission to the 155 available places requires applicants to have taken the CISIA TOLC-B test.
During the meetings, speakers will present the degree programme in detail, explain the educational and career opportunities offered by a degree in Biotechnology and outline the steps required to enrol.
The speakers will be Professor Elena Bossi, President of the Degree Programme; Professor Enrico Caruso, Department Representative for Student Guidance; Dr De Simone from the Student Administration Office; and Dr Luppi from the Academic Administration Office.
The call for applications for admission to the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Biotechnology for the 2026/2027 academic year has been published and is available on the University website.
One of the main changes concerns the new admission system. Starting this year, admission will be based on a ranking list, for which applications may be submitted until 20 July 2026.
The ranking list for the first admission round, which already includes all 155 available places, will be published on 27 July 2026. Should any places remain unfilled, further admission rounds will subsequently be opened.
Applicants must have taken the TOLC-B test before applying for inclusion in the ranking list. The test may be taken online on any of the available dates. The CISIA website provides full information on the test format, syllabus, preparation materials and available dates.
The meeting on 30 June will provide an important opportunity to ask questions and receive practical guidance on the procedures required to apply for the degree programme.
