On 6 and 7 February, the University of Insubria took part in the eleventh edition of “Studying in Italy”, an initiative promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute in Tirana to present and promote the educational opportunities offered by Italian universities to Albanian students.
The event opened on Friday 6 February with an institutional meeting between delegates from Italian universities and representatives from Albanian and Kosovar universities. The aim of the meeting was to encourage dialogue between academic institutions, consolidate existing partnerships and promote new opportunities for cooperation, including within the Erasmus+ programme. Delegates from fifteen Italian universities took part in the meeting. The day ended with a reception organised by the Italian Cultural Institute, providing a further opportunity for discussion and networking among participants.
Saturday 7 February was entirely dedicated to orientation. High school students from all over Albania were able to meet representatives of the Italian universities present, gather information on study programmes and receive personalised advice. The initiative, which was free to attend, attracted a significant number of young people interested in continuing their university studies in Italy.
Professor Genciana Terova, delegate of the Department of Biotechnology and Life Sciences, and Dr Simona Rimoldi participated on behalf of the University of Insubria. The university representatives illustrated the educational offerings, with particular attention to degree courses taught in English and the numerous international mobility opportunities available to students and researchers.
The presence at “Studying in Italy” represented an important opportunity to strengthen the visibility of the University of Insubria in a strategic international context and to consolidate relations with the Albanian academic system, at a time of growing interest in Italian university education.
