Course description
The Master's degree in Language Skills and Competences for Education prepares students especially in the teaching of the humanities, language sciences and linguistic research, allowing them to develop a sharpened critical spirit.
In addition to teaching, the degree enables graduates to work as experts in educational and curricular planning, allowing them to possess a broad psychological, anthropological and pedagogical-didactic competence, without renouncing specific preparation for socio-cultural services.
Graduates in Languages and Skills for Education will possess a solid knowledge of teaching environments for literary and linguistic disciplines, with a particular focus on the teaching of literature and Italian as a second language.
The teaching of historical and philosophical subjects, moreover, will enable them to enrich their cultural background and also to work in educational contexts other than secondary schools, i.e. in the third sector, at voluntary organisations, also by carrying out museum teaching and teaching in the local area.
Another educational objective concerns the focus on technologies for educational use, especially in view of the growing role of artificial intelligence.
Lastly, attention to the environment and sustainability is a further element enriching a professional profile in line with contemporary needs.
Those who graduate in Language Skills and Competences for Education can (by suitably completing their training with the 60 ECTS credits), work in secondary schools, as teachers of literary, historical, linguistic and historical-artistic disciplines. The LM-39 is an entry requirement for competition classes A-11, A-12, A-13, A-21, A-22, A-23, A-24, A-25, A-54, A-70, A-71, A-72, A-73, A-74, A-75, A-77, A-78, A-79, A-80, A-81, A-82, A-83, A-84, A-85 (the curriculum proposed by the University of Insubria will, in particular, cover the ECTS credits required for competition classes A-12, A-22) and Italian as a second language for the new competition class A-23.
