From 15 to 20 June the University of Insubria will host the first edition of "Oxford in Varese - Residence Week for Entrepreneurship Scholars", an international initiative dedicated to research in the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation

Organised in collaboration with the University of Oxford, the event will bring together a select group of scholars in Varese, some to their first participation and others experts, with the aim of creating an informal and stimulating environment for developing ideas, Start new collaborations and discuss research projects.

The workshop will be held at the historic Villa Toeplitz, an ideal setting for academic work surrounded by greenery, with equipped spaces and large gardens that promote concentration and dialogue.

The week is conceived as an academic retreat, where each participant can manage their own time during the day, engaging in individual work and informal discussions with other scholars.

Informal presentation sessions will be held every afternoon at 16:00 to share ideas and projects still in development, providing a valuable opportunity for feedback and improvement.

The initiative will officially start on Sunday, June 15, with a reception between 18:00 and 20:00 at the Grand Palace Hotel in Varese, during which participants can meet for an aperitif.

From Monday 16 to Friday 20 June, the activities will take place every day at Villa Toeplitz, with independent work until the afternoon and common sessions starting from 16:00. The evening of Thursday, June 19 will be dedicated to a gala dinner, also at the Grand Palace Hotel, scheduled from 19:00.


This week is designed to maintain a light structure, with few formal sessions and many opportunities for free comparison, personal work and collaboration between colleagues. A central aspect of the initiative will be the balance between junior and senior scholars, with the active involvement of professors and doctoral students from Insubria University, who will thus have the opportunity to interact directly with an international research network.
