The University offers an innovative university carpooling service that allows students to share their journeys between home and university in a simple, efficient and economical way.
The online platform and free app connect colleagues from the same university, or from neighbouring universities, to share their car journeys.
This allows travel costs to be shared and journeys to be optimised, reducing car use and lowering fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions, all to the benefit of environmental efficiency.
The service is managed by BePooler on behalf of the University.

The service is dedicated to the entire academic community of the University of Insubria, specifically:
- students
- permanent staff
- collaborators in various capacities.
The University of Insubria and BePooler S.r.l have decided to offer users a number of prizes:
The award will be based on the number of journeys made by users of the free carpooling platform (app) ‘BePooler’ (both carpool drivers and passengers, i.e. “drivers” and ‘riders’).
In particular, a ranking will be created for each area in which the University has at least one campus (Varese, Como and Busto Arsizio), based on the number of journeys made in the academic year 2023-2024, by 30 September 2024. Other prizes will be made available for journeys made in the 2024-2025 academic year by 30 June 2025.
For each area, the winners will choose their preferred prize from those available, the runners-up, again on a rotating basis across all three areas, will choose another from those remaining, and so on until all prizes have been awarded. In the event of a tie, the highest number of kilometres travelled by carpooling will be taken into account.
The app allows you to book dedicated parking spaces in real time, which are available and marked at the University's locations.
In the chat section of the app, you can talk directly to your colleagues, organise yourselves and communicate any unexpected events or delays.
With BePooler, you can minimise stress and make friends on your journey to university.
The app can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store and Google Play.
