Prerequisites are having attended the lessons and exercises of the course of Periodontology1 and having achieved the idoneity at the oral examination.

he oral examination is intended to verify the knowledge and the ability to understand (25%), the ability to apply knowlwdge and understanding (25%), the autonomy of judgement (20%), the communication skills (10%), and the learnig abilities (20%) of the student in the field of clinical periodontology.

Objective of the course of Periodontology II is to give the knowledge to the students about the comprehensive treatment of the lesions caused by periodontal diseases, and how to prevent or reduce the risk of their relapses. Historical surgical approaches to the reconstruction of soft and hard tissues will be reviewed and described step by step by means of clinical images and clips.

Clinical and instrumental diagnosis and classification of gingivitis and periodontitis. Interrelationship with systemic diseases. Surgical treatment of periodontal tissue lesions. Use of biomaterials.
