As required by the Subjects Guide of the Course of Studies the student needs to have obtained “pass” in the exams of the foundation stage, Paediatric Dentistry 1 and Paediatric Dentistry 2, and have passed the exams of the 5th year.

At the end of the course the student will have to take an oral exam (with questions about the topics dealt with during the courses of Paediatric Dentistry 1 and 2) and discuss a clinical case. Not only will the test assess the student’s knowledge and learning ability, but also his/her competence, indipendence of judgement and communication skills.
The marks are out of 30, where 18 is the minimum required to pass the exam.

It is the aim of the course to provide students with the grounding of Dentistry in the developmental age and enhance their professional growth as future paediatric dentists thanks to an in-depth knowledge of the core issues of Paediatric Dentistry. At the end of the course the student will have gained the diagnostic and practical/clinical skills to manage the paediatric patient.

In-depth study of the syllabi of Paediatric Dentistry 1 and 2. Discussion and planning of clinical cases.

The student may refer to the teaching aids provided during the two previous years and to the guide-lines of the Department for Education regarding Paediatric Dentistry.

The course of Paediatric Dentistry 3 is practical/clinical. During the activities performed in the ward of Paediatric Dentistry great attention is focused on the theoretical knowledge acquired by the student. At the same time the treatment plans of the paediatric patients visiting our clinic are discussed, programmed and carried out.
