The purpose of this course is to teach the student the basic notions of calculus and linear algebra together with the basic techniques and applications that accompany them.

Numerical sets. The set R: metric structure.
Real functions, domain, maxima and minima, monotonicity, convexity, geometrical transformations.

Limits and continuity of one-variable real functions.
Difference quotient, derivative. Differentiation rules. Stationary poits, monotonicity test.

Vectors, matrices and their operations.
Determinant, rank, linear systems.

Real functions of two variables. Domain, partial derivatives, stationary points. Optimization condition.
