To provide fundamentals notions of classical particle mechanics

Course program:

Principles of mechanics. Rectilinear motion. Motion in presence of: i) constant force, force dependent on position, iii) force proportional to the velocity. Free fall. Harmonic oscillations. Collisions. Projectile motion. Circular uniform motion. Kepler’s laws. Bohr-Sommerfeld model of the atom. Pendulum. Forced and damped oscillations. Coupled oscillators.
