No prerequisite knowledge of Russian history and culture is required for this course.

Final oral exam.
The oral exam aims to verify students' ability to present what acquired during the course.

The final evaluation will take into account the results of the two written tests carried out midway and at the end of the course, as well as the results of the team work.

The aim of the course is to provide students who do not have any prior knowledge of Russian history and culture with an overview of the main issues of the cultural identity of modern Russia.

The course will present the core moments of Russian history and culture, with particular reference to the modern and contemporary era.

At the end of this course, students:

- will know the fundamental expressions of Russian culture in its evolution, with particular reference to the historical, political-territorial, literary, artistic, scientific and socio-economic fields in relation to the transformations of the country in the macro context of Central and Eastern Europe;

- will be able to draw comparisons with other realities and apply the knowledge acquired to analyze various types of issues and problems in interdisciplinary, intercultural and international context;

- will be able to apply historical-cultural notions learned to critically analyze related issues.

Convenzionale

The course takes place in the first semester with 50 hours of lessons.

The lessons will be supported by Power Point presentations which will then be uploaded to the course page on the ELearning platform.

The course tutor will stimulate the participation and discussion of students on the topics introduced, with the aim of identifying topics to be studied individually or in groups. Topics will be presented through the viewing of documentaries, films, photos and other audio-visual sources, followed by group-discussion.

Continuous attendance is highly recommended. Non-attending students are asked to contact the course tutor at the beginning of the academic year for an additional programme.
Contact hours: During term, students can arrange an appointment after each lesson. Out of term, students are invited to contact the course tutor to make an appointment.
